General Summary
This course will present an update on the diagnosis and management of hepatobiliary diseases. World-renowned experts will present a wide range of topics, including instructional case studies, roundtable discussions and didactic lectures complemented by question and answer sessions. The goal of this educational activity is to increase knowledge, competence and performance in the delivery of patient care, as well as to encourage providers to modify practice behaviors that can lead to improved patient health and safety.

The second day of the conference will be dedicated to patient education. Expert physicians, healthcare providers, patients, caregivers and advocacy groups will share experiences, knowledge and the latest advances in cholestatic liver disease. Patients will also learn about promising clinical trials and research opportunities.

Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Treat patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and inadequate response to standard treatment.

• To detail best practices in the screening and management of hepatitis delta virus (HDV) infection.

• Develop a comprehensive management plan for patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC).

• Establish a treatment plan for patients with difficult-to-treat autoimmune hepatitis.

• Outline best practices for the successful eradication of Hepatitis C (HCV).

• To apply new strategies for the treatment of acute kidney injury-hepatorenal syndrome.

• To evaluate the role of liver transplantation in alcoholic liver disease.

• Diagnosing and managing liver disease in pregnancy.

• Identify an appropriate treatment strategy for patients with steatotic liver disease.
